Delivery Information

At Chessington Garden Centre, we understand that arranging delivery can sometimes feel like the most challenging part of your purchase. That’s why we’ve designed our delivery service to be straightforward, reliable and transparent — so you know exactly what to expect from checkout to doorstep. 

Local Delivery – The Chessington Team
Whether you shop online or instore, if you live within our local catchment area your order will be delivered by our trusted in-house delivery team. When purchasing in-store, we will confirm your delivery date at the point of sale. Your order will be delivered by our experienced team (from Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 6:00pm), who are happy to place items in your garden or home (subject to access and safety restrictions). 
Our drivers will: 
•    Agree a delivery date with you 
•    Contact you prior to arrival 
•    Deliver safely and professionally to your requested location (where access allows) 
•    For online orders within our delivery area, our logistics team will contact you to arrange delivery once your order has been processed — typically within 24 hours (this may be slightly longer during peak seasons).
We recommend selecting Local Delivery at checkout where available, as it is a more cost-effective option and may result in a faster delivery time compared to alternative methods. To check if local delivery is available for your postcode, please use our delivery option checker here.

Nationwide & Courier Deliveries 
For customers outside our local area, we work with trusted courier partners to ensure safe and efficient delivery. Delivery charges are calculated automatically at checkout based on the items in your basket and total order weight. Below is a guide to our delivery services: 

Kerbside Pallet Delivery (Palletline) – £50 
Used for furniture, large items, compost and barbecues. 
Once processed, your order is collected by Palletline and transferred to your local depot.  The depot will contact you (usually within two working days) to arrange a convenient delivery date. 
Delivery is kerbside unless otherwise specified. 
The pallets that the items arrive on are delivered will be left with the delivery.  

2-Man Furniture Only Delivery Service (Byeway) - £80 
Suitable for furniture, barbecue and larger items.  
This is a two-man service where possible the delivery will be located at the location on your property where you would like it placed. 
This is dependant on access and driver discretion. 
This cannot be selected for non-furniture deliveries. If this is selected from a non-furniture order such as compost, gravel or landscaping material, your order will revert to pallet delivery and will be delivered on a pallet.

DPD Standard Delivery – £7.95 
Suitable for smaller items. 
Certain products such as compost, larger garden items and heavier items cannot be shipped via DPD due to weight and size restrictions. 
If DPD delivery is available, it will appear as an option at checkout. 
If the option does not appear, your basket does not qualify for DPD delivery. 

Before You Purchase: Important Considerations (Local Delivery) 
To help ensure a smooth delivery experience, please consider the following;  
Many larger items, particularly furniture sets, are supplied boxed and require home assembly.  
Please ensure access paths or gateways are at least 30 inches (80cm) wide to accommodate large, boxed items. 
 If delivery requires access through your home, doorways should be at least 28 inches (70cm) wide. 
Please inform us of any, steps narrow pathways, gates, uneven surfaces 
Our driver will assess the delivery location on arrival and complete the delivery safely at their discretion. We will always endeavour to position your order as close as possible to your preferred location (e.g. back garden), subject to access and safety considerations. 

Important Information 
Vans entering a customer’s property do so entirely at the customer’s risk. 
Customers accept responsibility for any risks associated with deliveries requiring access through the property. 
We are unable to guarantee specific delivery times. 
Chessington Garden Centre cannot be held liable for any losses or costs incurred due to delivery timing.
